Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.RequirementsPenmac Staffing is seeking a skilled Draftsman / Estimator for a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who understands not only how to create accurate technical drawings, but also how products are fabricated and what it takes to produce them efficiently and profitably. Qualified candidates should:
- Have experience in metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing
- Be proficient in CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor
- Have experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Possess a strong understanding of materials, labor, and fabrication processes
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Be comfortable communicating with customers, vendors, and production teams
- Have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
ResponsibilitiesAs a Draftsman / Estimator, you will play a critical role in turning customer concepts into accurate fabrication drawings and project estimates. You will work closely with sales, production, and customers to ensure projects are practical, cost-effective, and ready for successful execution. Responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Interpreting customer requirements, blueprints, and project specifications
- Preparing accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates
- Evaluating labor, materials, and production requirements for quoting purposes
- Collaborating with shop personnel to ensure designs are practical and efficient to manufacture
- Communicating with customers and vendors regarding project details, pricing, and clarifications
- Identifying potential design or production issues before fabrication begins
- Supporting project transitions from estimating through production
