Job Description
The Drafter 2 will provide CAD drafting and technical support for transmission line survey projects. The role will work closely with survey field crews and office personnel to prepare accurate drawings, survey documents, and right-of-way information.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CAD drafting for transmission line centerline, right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land-tie surveys.
- Interpret and prepare metes and bounds and centerline descriptions for assigned projects.
- Research existing survey, property, and real estate records.
- Contact local and state agencies to obtain right-of-way and survey information.
- Support survey field crews and office staff with drafting and documentation needs.
- Review survey information and incorporate field data into CAD drawings.
- Prepare and transmit completed project documentation.
- Maintain accuracy and quality of drafting deliverables while meeting project deadlines.
- 2–5 years of professional drafting experience.
- Experience with CAD drafting;experience supporting surveying or utility/transmission projects is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret survey drawings, plans, maps, and property information.
- Knowledge of right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land-tie survey concepts.
- Ability to understand and prepare metes-and-bounds or centerline descriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good research, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with field crews and office personnel.
- Associate’s degree in Drafting & Design preferred.
- Equivalent relevant drafting experience may be considered where applicable.
