Job Summary
The Department of Public Safety seeks individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others and have a strong commitment to integrity and professionalism. DPS Officer 1s are trainees that use their academy training as a foundation to acquire the remaining knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform law enforcement duties as DPS Officer 2. You will progress to the next level upon meeting minimum qualifications, demonstrating satisfactory performance, and receiving a recommendation from your appointing authority.
This recruitment will be used to establish an eligible list for current and future DPS Officer positions in Las Vegas, Boulder City, Indian Springs, Jean, Henderson, Laughlin, Mesquite, Pahrump, and Pioche.

This recruitment is for candidates who possess CAT 1 POST certification, but do not have one full year of law enforcement experience. will work under close supervision as a trainee within the agency to which assigned.
Receive field training in the job duties of a DPS Officer II.
