This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Donor Stewardship Assistant for the Office of Development at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Oregon State University Foundation is seeking an innovative Oregon State student to work in the Donor Stewardship unit.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Stewardship, the student worker in this position will provide administrative support for donor recognition and stewardship activities to help assure that donors are stewarded in a thoughtful, timely, and ethical manner. This is an opportunity for students to learn new skills, gain experience, and enhance their college years.

This position is part-time and will work out of the OSU Foundation office which is located off-campus at 4238 SW Research Way, Corvallis, OR 97333.

Position Duties

  • Prepare proof for context acknowledgement and gift society welcome letters.
  • Using mail merge function, prepare, organize and print mailings.
  • Process and distribute student correspondence to scholarship donors.
  • Update donor database for all correspondence to donors.
  • Assist with impact report processing and distribution to donors.
  • Provide support for the Donor Stewardship group.
  • Assist with donor event prep as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain and audit printing materials

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term

  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term

  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications Preferred (Special) Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency working with relational databases and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) for the generation of correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, and forms.
  • Solid writing and editing skills.
  • Strong organizational, oral and interpersonal skills and eye for detail.
  • Ability to research information through multiple electronic and paper files.
  • Familiarity with standard business correspondence (formatting, salutations, etc.)
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and high integrity to work appropriately with confidential information.
  • Ability to work as a team member, effectively interact with co-workers, vendors, volunteers and donors using a collaborative work style.
  • Excellent customer support skills.
  • Knowledge of fundraising processes helpful.
