Description


The Hire Our Heroes program or DOD Skillbridge program is a workforce development initiative, designed to support veterans and transitioning service members in building meaningful careers across our family of companies—HOLT CAT, HOLT Truck Centers, HOLT Renewables, Texas First Rentals, and more. This program offers structured training, mentorship, and career pathways tailored to your skills and aspirations. Participants will be placed in roles that align with their experience and interests. Must be able to do 180 days minimum in the Career Skillbridge Program prior to exiting the service.  

Essential Functions


  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
    • Diesel and heavy equipment technician training
    • Renewable energy installation and maintenance
    • Truck service and repair
    • Parts and logistics coordination
    • Customer service and operations support
  •  Requires regular and punctual attendance
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information
  • Ability to follow directions and guidelines
  • Ability to receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Leadership
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
