Document Specialist I

Hiring manager noted that candidates without any exposure to shipping or logistics processes may struggle to understand the work. Experience in receiving, shipping, logistics, import/export, or similar operational environments is beneficial.

Role supports trade compliance and focuses on document control/compliance auditing.
Primary responsibility is reviewing and auditing export documentation, including:
•             Airway bills
•             Export filings
•             Trade compliance documents
Requires strong attention to detail when comparing export documents against filing records.
New hire will receive hands-on training from an employee currently performing the process.
Prior trade compliance experience is preferred but not required.
Candidates with some understanding of shipping, export/import processes, or document control will have an advantage.
Experience managing and organizing documentation is important.
Candidates should be familiar with:
•             Microsoft Office applications (required)
•             Adobe Acrobat (including editing/updating PDF documents)
•             SAP (preferred; considered a strong plus)

•             Export/import processes is considered sufficient and highly valuable.
Interview process:
•             Primarily conducted by the hiring manager
•             May include one additional participant

•             Interview format will be an in-person interview
