      Job Description: 
    We are currently recruiting a Document Negotiator to join our Office of General Counsel (OGC) Team.  In this role, the successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment with other lawyers servicing the world’s largest investment managers and institutional investors.  The individual will primarily prepare, review and negotiate account control agreements and amendments, but will also review and negotiate various instruction and/or representation letters for various operational groups within Client's Investor Services division.   There is opportunity for further growth in the future for the successful candidate.

    Some of your key responsibilities include:
    • Assist Client attorneys in advising Client Services group in the context of client on-boarding and maintenance with mutual fund and other financial services customers, by preparing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for established clients such as account control agreements required in connection with derivatives and options trading, side letters to service agreements and documents related to account openings in global markets.
    • Support Client's attorneys in coordinating such legal documentation between multiple parties ensuring adherence to time critical deadlines; track the status of legal documentation and maintaining records, matrices, and files; and interacting with internal and external clients.
    • Position includes cross division collaboration with Client's Credit, Risk and Compliance departments with regards to contract review and special projects.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • A graduate of an accredited law school preferred but will also consider an experienced non-lawyer.
    • Minimum 2+ years’ experience, but newly admitted attorneys with related prior financial services industry experience also considered.
    • Transactional, corporate, contracts, mutual funds and/or banking experience highly desirable.
    • Experience with derivatives, ISDA, or control agreements highly desirable.
    • Law firm, custodian bank, mutual fund or other in-house legal department experience preferred.
    • High level of quality work, enthusiasm, and professionalism
    • Strong negotiation and drafting skills, including experience in negotiating and drafting relevant documentation.
    • Strong customer service skills - ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituencies.
    • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products.
    • Knowledge of relevant areas of law, including Uniform Commercial Code and Investment Company Act of 1940 preferred
    Shift: 
    • (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
