Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Document Controller II to support a leading Southern California natural gas utility with the organization, review, and disposition of regulatory records. This is a hands-on records management role involving high volumes of physical documentation and requires accuracy, efficiency, and strict adherence to records retention and confidentiality procedures.
The ideal candidate is dependable, works with a strong sense of urgency, and is comfortable handling, organizing, boxing, and moving physical files throughout the workday.
Key Responsibilities- Sort and organize high volumes of regulatory hard-copy records.
- Separate and categorize records by regulatory proceeding number.
- Review files to identify and remove duplicate documentation.
- Accurately document disposed records in the official disposal log.
- Dispose of eligible records in approved containers in accordance with company policies.
- Box, label, and prepare records for relocation or storage.
- Identify and properly separate confidential, sensitive, legal-hold, or restricted materials.
- Maintain accurate organization and documentation throughout the records management process.
- Follow established regulatory, records retention, confidentiality, and document-control procedures.
- Assist with other document control and records management activities as assigned.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in document control, records management, file management, administrative support, or a similar detail-oriented environment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently while managing a high volume of records.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and appropriately handle confidential or sensitive information.
- Comfortable performing physical records-management duties, including lifting, moving, and boxing files.
