Dock and Door Service Mechanic / Fabricator |Troy, OH

Dock and Door Service Mechanics responds to breakdown service calls for needed repairs and performs scheduled routine maintenance at various customer locations on customer's dock and door equipment. The primary goal is to troubleshoot, repair and maintain units at the customer’s location when possible. Preferably in the southern Troy area.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent, certifications in industrial equipment are preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 95% of the time (service calls are normally within a 50 mile radius of tech's home)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform basic to complex repairs on dock and door equipment as directed by the service department.

Conduct thorough inspections on dock and door equipment to identify repairs that are needed and note all findings on work orders.

Use proper test equipment for troubleshooting.

Coordinate with parts department to obtain parts needed for repairs.

Accurately and legibly complete paperwork such as workorders, time cards, etc. and turn in on a timely basis

Maintain professional appearance and attitude.

Keep service vehiclbasis.an and stocked with parts supplies; own the tools needed to perform on a daily basis

Comply with all quality and safety policies with our company guidelines.

Complete required training by manufacturer standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical degree or experience in operating, working on commercial docks, doors, or comparable equipment.

Welding and fabricating skills

Able to read/understand blueprints, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.

Dependable and timely

Customer oriented, good people skills

Organized and self-motivated

Have basic computer skills.

Must maintain a good driving record
