SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a DMSMS Engineer to develop, execute, and monitor test plans required to conduct form, fit, and functional testing, as well as Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) parts in support of COTS/DMSMS engineering solutions.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, execute, and monitor test plans for form, fit, and functional testing, as well as EQT of COTS parts.
- Document test results and findings and prepare and present test reports associated with functional and EQT test events.
- Perform verification and review and maintain case information and status in the SSDS COTS/DMSMS case management tool.
- Determine and provide recommendations for COTS/DMSMS solutions.
- Calculate life-of-type or bridge-buy requirements; identify suitable replacements by evaluating form, fit, and function; negotiate extended production and/or repair with OEMs or other third-party companies; design FC/engineering changes at the next higher assembly or cabinet level; identify opportunities for reclamation and define harvest requirements; and develop and document Business Case Analyses for COTS/DMSMS solutions.
- Provide support for the development of SSDS MK2 COTS/DMSMS briefs and other briefs and/or reports as required.
- Actively participate in the SSDS Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Working Group (SCWG), technical interchange meetings, and other working groups, using experience and technical expertise to support obsolescence assessments applicable to the SSDS MK2 suite of equipment or as directed by the Government SME.
- Develop and maintain meeting agendas, action-item trackers, and meeting minutes in support of these meetings.
- Participate in internal and external engineering reviews of SCDs, ECPs, and Local Configuration Control Boards (LCCBs) to support change-documentation reviews and provide feedback and comments.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver DMSMS reports, including, but not limited to, sustainment analyses, life-cycle cost analyses, test reports, Business Case Analyses, ECPs, and Ship Change Documents (SCDs), with minimal Government technical direction.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in DMSMS management/engineering for Navy systems.
- Experience with FROST and/or other government-related databases, as well as DMSMS processes and obsolescence research.
- Proficiency in configuration management practices.
- Solid understanding of SSDS hardware and software requirements to effectively identify DMSMS solutions, including scenarios requiring component replacement or higher-level assembly redesign.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior military experience is a plus.

Position Salary Range: $140,000 - $190,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
