Job Summary:
Sutter Solano Medical Center is a trusted not-for-profit, acute care hospital serving Vallejo, Solano County, and the greater North Bay region. As part of Sutter Health's integrated network, the medical center offers patients and families access to high-quality care close to home, including 24-hour emergency care, surgery, cardiology, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, endoscopy, inpatient rehabilitation, orthopedics, respiratory therapy, and cancer care. Known for its commitment to compassionate, reliable, and patient-centered care, Sutter Solano continues to build on its strong reputation for clinical excellence, including recognition for stroke care, sepsis treatment, patient safety, and low infection rates.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven healthcare executive to lead Sutter Solano Medical Center as Division Vice President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this role, the CEO will help shape the future of care for the Vallejo and Solano County communities while advancing Sutter Health's broader priorities. The CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across the medical center, working closely with physicians, nurses, clinical teams, support services, community partners, Board members, and Sutter Health leaders to deliver exceptional, high-quality, and cost-effective care. With responsibility for operations, long-range planning, quality, service line growth, and financial performance, this leader will ensure SSMC is well positioned to meet the needs of patients today and continue evolving for the future. Reporting to the Division President, the CEO partners closely with the CME, CNE, senior hospital leaders, Foundation Administrators, and other division leaders, and serves as a member of the Sutter Division Leadership Team.
The CEO will lead through the SSMC senior leadership team, supporting broad patient care and operational priorities across the acute care enterprise and related service lines. This includes guiding leaders and teams in staffing, program development, quality improvement, financial stewardship, and daily operations. The role may also include oversight of outpatient and ambulatory services, such as clinics, urgent care centers, surgery centers, specialty care, same-day and walk-in services, clinical service lines, and shared support services. Just as important, the CEO will help create a culture where people feel connected to the mission, empowered to do their best work, and encouraged to collaborate, innovate, and continuously improve. For the right leader, this is a meaningful opportunity to strengthen an already respected medical center and make a lasting impact on the communities Sutter Solano serves.
