In this role, you will lead multiple Project Managers and Supervisors, drive operational and service excellence, oversee the division's financial performance, strengthen customer relationships, and support business growth. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with extensive utility construction management experience, strong financial acumen, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall performance of the division.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Supervisors, and other leadership team members.
- Assist in developing and executing the division's annual business plan and strategic initiatives.
- Identify new market opportunities and support the expansion of services within the assigned territory.
- Own the division's Profit & Loss (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and gross margin performance.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety policies, field audits, training requirements, and incident prevention initiatives.
- Serve as the primary executive contact for major utility customers, supporting contract negotiations, service agreements, and operational issue resolution.
- Optimize the use of personnel, equipment, and other resources to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor division performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years of utility construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) management, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and master contract structures.
- Extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry, utility construction, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to lead through managers and develop high-performing leadership teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to drive operational excellence while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
