Division General Manager - Central

The Central Division General Manager (DGM) is a senior member of the Wood Products Distribution organization and reports to the Vice President of Distribution. The Central division is comprised of several distribution sites in Colorado, Texas, Utah, Idaho, and Florida. The Central DGM will directly lead the management team that oversees safety, sales representatives, and operations. This role includes the following key areas of focus, as well as other duties and projects as assigned to support business needs:

  • Model and reinforce safety leadership by ensuring site leaders prioritize and execute safety programs that protect the health and welfare of our people and others who visit our sites.
  • Utilize leadership skills, business acumen and market knowledge to drive results in people, profits and performance. This role has direct P&L responsibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and other internal teams.
  • Champion operational and supply chain excellence work that continuously improves our business.
  • Identify and establish strategy, drive execution of key initiatives, and engage the organization to achieve critical objectives and positive KPI performance. All other duties as assigned.

We manufacture and sell an innovative collection of proven structural framing materials to the residential, multi-family and light commercial markets, and provide seamless building solutions, from design to installation to support. Qualifications:

  • 10+ years wood products sales management experience (or equivalent); Wholesale LBM distribution highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to Central US with airport access to markets served by our business
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
  • Demonstrated results in safety excellence
  • Excellent business and financial acumen, including business drivers, leverage points, and P&L ownership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor other leaders and possess a track record of developing the capabilities of others and increasing bench strength toward fostering a high-performance culture

  • Experienced sales leader responsible for the development of sales programs and maintaining/developing key customer relationships.
  • Ability to create and execute market and customer strategies that align with corporate growth goals to drive profitable, repeatable sales and increase market share
  • Strong market knowledge, and deep understanding of industry dynamics, market complexities, macro and micro economic indicators and trends
  • Strong analytical abilities to develop and utilize data and tools to evaluate and quantify the impact of customer programs and relationships
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated experience and success in negotiations

What We Offer:

  • Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $194,000 - $296,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 35% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is eligible to be nominated for an annual long term incentive grant as well. The grant guideline for this position is $90,000, with a range of zero to 150% of the guideline amount. The value of long-term incentive grants is typically delivered in restricted stock units.

  • Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
  • Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
