The Department of Medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center (MHMC) is seeking applications for the position of Director for the Division of Rheumatology. Located in Cleveland, OH, MHMC seeks an experienced physician with a proven record of accomplishment of clinical excellence, growth, and leadership. The Director will work collaboratively with the Chair of Medicine to enhance the clinical, educational and research missions of the Division. Candidates should have a national reputation for their clinical, teaching and/or research excellence. Our division is a growing academic program as a Case Western Reserve University affiliate and as such is a CWRU Clinical Science and Translational Award site.
Faculty are engaged in the MHMC internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship programs. The fellows cover the inpatient and consultation service for the MHMC hospital. Clinical research is an integral component of the Division and the MetroHealth Medical Center.

Throughout its long history, the MetroHealth System has been and continues to be committed to its academic mission and has excelled in both basic and clinical research. Past scientific luminaries include Dr. Frederick C. Robbins and Charles H. Rammelkamp, Jr., who received the Nobel Prize and Lasker Award, respectively. The research enterprise currently boasts $30 million/year of research and sponsored program grants and contracts.
The principal teaching hospital of Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, MetroHealth maintains a fine tradition of academics and research. All active staff physicians are full-time faculty of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and actively participate in graduate and undergraduate medical education. Last year, 390 residents and fellows received intensive training in more than 25 specialties. In addition, 991 medical students completed more than 1,400 rotations.
