Position Summary:
The Technology Inventory Specialist supports the collection, distribution, tracking, and inventory of district technology equipment. The specialist works with schools and district teams to maintain accurate inventory records, identify equipment needs, and coordinate the transfer and removal of surplus equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Receive, count, asset tag, distribute, collect, and document district technology equipment in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain accurate records of equipment location, assignment, condition, and status in district inventory systems
- Deliver and collect technology equipment at schools and other district locations as needed
- Conduct physical inventories throughout the district, compare results with system records, and report missing equipment or other discrepancies
- Work with school staff to address equipment needs and complete end-of-year technology inventories
- Document equipment transfers and returns and prepare surplus equipment for removal or disposal under district procedures
- Prepare clear and accurate inventory reports
- Support summer technology distribution, collection, and inventory projects
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of methods used to conduct physical inventories and maintain accurate inventory records
- Knowledge of basic recordkeeping practices and district equipment control procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to use district inventory systems and standard reports to verify equipment information
- Ability to accurately record asset tags, serial numbers, equipment locations, assignments, transfers, and returns
- Ability to compare physical equipment counts with inventory records and promptly report discrepancies to the Inventory Analyst
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain equipment collection, distribution, and inventory procedures to school staff
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructional staff, school administrators, and district teams
- Ability to organize assigned work and meet deadlines during equipment distribution, collection, and inventory periods
Education:
- High School diploma (required)
- 60 college credit hours (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between district schools and other work locations as assigned
- Must be able to transport technology equipment between district locations as assigned
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Requires walking or standing while working at district schools and other locations
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Work is routinely performed in schools or buildings in the district
- Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
