Primary Job Functions: The District Technician provides technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network systems throughout the school district. This position ensures that students, teachers, and staff have reliable access to technology tools that support instruction, communication, and administration.

Salary Lane: Hourly pay starting at $27.25

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Assigned Workday Calendar: 260/261 days (Full Calendar Year)

Job Status: Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am 4:00pm

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience in Network Technology, or Network Security, or comparable.
  • Certification: Preferred/Considered: Network+, Security+ or similar.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in enterprise networks, or network security, or enterprise application deployment. K-12 experience preferred.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Ability to learn district hardware and software systems. Desire to learn latest applications. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems. Run diagnostic tests, analyze logs, and respond. Interface with vendors/contractors as required to maintain and improve systems. Possess interpersonal skills for working in an educational setting.
  • Other: Ability to maintain a positive relationship with pupils, staff, parents, and the community.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) including software deployment, imaging, updates.
  • Build and update baseline images in SCCM.
  • Manage, monitor, report, and assist with response for endpoint detection events, Office 365 alerts, and vulnerability scans/analytics.
  • Improve response capabilities by researching and collaboratively building an ELK stack for centralized monitoring.
  • Audit and craft components of AD group policy responsible for endpoint security profiles.
  • Collaboratively prepare system, job, program, and user documentation.
  • Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.
  • Project a genuine care and concern for all students.
  • Comply with all Avon Community School Corporation policies, guidelines, procedures, and protocols.
  • Participate in professional development, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
