    Duties

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:

    • Help students develop a positive attitude toward school and learning.
    • Help students develop positive relationships with peers, parents, teachers, and families and improve various social skills, such as coping strategies and friendship skills.
    • Help students deal with personal concerns, crises, school-related problems, home and family concerns, friendship issues, and any other issue that interferes with learning.
    • Help ease the transitions between school settings.
    • Responsible for coordinating all testing programs/standardized testing sessions.
    • Helps students with academic, personal, social, and emotional problems and/or makes referrals when and where appropriate and necessary.
    • Assists in implementation of Socio-emotional learning curriculum.
    • Work with building principal in the development of the middle school schedule.
    • Maintain middle school student records (contact person to ensure accuracy between middle school and SIS data).
    • Complete Middle School SIS uploads regularly.
    • Enter all attendance into student information system for students that are served in other districts.
    • Maintain and supervise the student attendance system.
    • Assist in developing and reviewing the student discipline program and implementing restorative practices.
    • Be visible in the hallway and on school grounds to impart to students how to act appropriately.
    • Communicate to students expectations of academic performance.
    • Coordinate parent, student, and teacher meetings relative to academic performance and student behavior.
    • Help plan and participate in family nights.
    • Assist in planning and participating in college/career readiness events and field trips as appropriate to grade level.
    • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    • Maintain accurate records related to student academic and discipline information.
    • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and professional development conferences.
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with administration and staff.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    • Meet all requirements of the evaluation plan.

    Qualifications

    • An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or

    university.

    1. A valid professional educator license issued by the ISBE Division of Educator

    Certification, Recertification and Preparation.

    1. Meet the recognition standards governing preparation in the subjects

    or area in which assigned as outlined by the State of Illinois
