Position Purpose
Under the direction of an experienced operator, monitor and perform real-time actions to ensure safe, reliable, and economic operation of the electric and gas distribution systems during normal and emergency conditions.
Works to complete the Distribution Systems Operations Supervisor (DSOS) initial training program to independently operate the Company''s electric and gas distribution systems.
Core Responsibilities

- Participates in directing field personnel in emergency response to natural gas leaks and electric distribution outages under supervision
- Observes and practices developing restoration plans and directing field personnel during electric restoration
- Gains understanding of electric switching procedures
- Assists with preparing gas-valving plans in emergency situations
- Uses DMS and EMS systems to monitor disturbances and assist with corrective actions
- Learns Outage Management System to analyze and manage outages
- Develops understanding of system modeling and operational studies
- Issues and releases hold-out tags under guidance
- Monitors gas system pressures, flows, and odorant levels
- Supports reporting of system conditions and regulatory requirements
- Participates in shift rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays

Education
Technical degree in electrical power, gas distribution, or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
- Three years of related experience or equivalent
- Experience in operations, engineering, or field roles preferred
Work Location & Expectations
- This role is 100% onsite at our Madison, WI headquarters.
- Shift rotation includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to report to work within one hour if called
- Must complete training and demonstrate proficiency within 12 months
