Distribution Engineer (Entry-Level)

In this role, you"ll work on high-visibility utility improvement and storm-hardening initiatives designed to improve grid reliability, enhance public safety, and support long-term energy resilience. You"ll gain hands-on experience in power distribution design, field engineering, and utility infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and industry leaders.

What You"ll Do
As a Distribution Engineer, you"ll support the planning, design, and execution of electric distribution projects, including:
What We"re Looking For
Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on design or engineering experience in utility, electrical, or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of electric utility systems, including primary and secondary distribution networks.
Experience with industry software such as:
Bentley Open Utility Designer (BOUD)
Smallworld
Maximo
Pole Loading Software
AutoCAD
MicroStation
Experience supporting Duke Energy projects or utility distribution design programs.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
Experience working with customers, developers, or external stakeholders.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
