Distribution Associate
Pay Rate: $16.50/hr.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
Experience: 1+ year relevant experience preferred
MHE/Forklift Experience: Required
Position Overview
The Distribution Associate is responsible for warehousing and material distribution tasks related to the shipment of products.
Important: Candidates must have some forklift/MHE experience and be comfortable performing manual labor. The primary responsibility is manually unloading 18-wheeler trucks, with minimal forklift usage.
Job Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
- Manually unload products from 18-wheeler trucks.
- Operate a forklift/MHE as needed; forklift usage is minimal.
- Process customer orders by scanning barcodes, picking cases, and labeling boxes.
- Palletize orders by scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets.
- Use RF technology to process orders.
- Verify order accuracy and properly package shipments.
- Scan completed pallets and operate the shrink wrapper as needed.
- Operate the ground/manual manifest station as needed.
- Learn the responsibilities of other warehouse positions and provide backup support when needed.
- Perform other warehouse and distribution duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1 year of relevant warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
- Forklift/MHE experience required.
- Candidates must have a combination of forklift experience and manual labor experience.
- Must be willing to perform significant manual unloading work.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to obtain an electric pallet jack certification.
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
- Ability to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.
- Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- General knowledge of distribution operations.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, and lifting.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers, including repetitive wrist and hand movements.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs. in some areas.
- May occasionally be required to climb.
- Must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye.
- Must have sufficient hearing to safely operate MHE in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
