    Lezzer Lumber, family-owned and operated company, began in 1927 and has remained a leader in the building supply materials industry. Lezzer Lumber has grown over the decades into the 30th largest lumber dealers in the country. We are currently comprised of 15 retail stores, 4 commercial door facilities, and a truss manufacturing plant, all located in Pennsylvania.

    Summary:

    Utilizes a predetermined delivery schedule system to routinely schedule all deliveries and vendor/jobsite pickups. Supervises a staff of drivers including CDL Class A, Boom, and non-CDL drivers to meet the needs of the delivery schedules while increasing the productivity of the drivers and the delivery fleet and meeting or exceeding the customer service standards of the location.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Coordinates delivery requests from customers and location staff to schedule available equipment an delivery personal to specified delivery requirements and customer service commitments.
    • Coordinates vendor merchandise and customer jobsite pick-ups within the delivery schedule.
    • Processes customer backorders and maintains the location backorder files.
    • Coordinates and schedules the delivery of backorders as merchandise becomes available.
    • Invoices all delivery orders ensuring the accuracy of the orders and invoices.
    • Works with location staff to coordinate short-lead delivery requests.
    • Oversees the daily preventative maintenance checks on delivery vehicles following company guidelines.
    • Coordinates the assignment of load bunking duties with the Yard Manager.
    • Immediately reports all accidents, injuries and incidents of damage to merchandise, physical plant and equipment and customer property to the Assistant Manager or Location Manager.
    • Knows and practices safe and proper lifting, carrying, and material maneuvering practices.
    • Responsible for the opening and closing of the location as scheduled.
    • Responsible to start the nightly business run on the in-store system.

    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Ability to relate the requirements of combined delivery orders to the geographical area(s) and specified time frames for delivery in order to combine loads.
    • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts in order to calculate board footage and load weights.
    • Two to four years' experience in industry related delivery, dispatching, or supervisory functions.
    • Knowledgeable of DOT regulations and ability to comply with same.
    • Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
    • Knowledge of delivery methods and techniques.
    • Ability to complete a forklift operator's certification as appropriated by location management.
    • Demonstrates superior customer service

    • Frequently required to lift and carry items of 100+ pounds for a moderate distance

    • Continuously exposed to heavy equipment such as delivery vehicles or fork trucks.
