    Saint Mary''s College is seeking a professional, customer-focused Afternoon Dispatcher to serve as the communication hub for the Campus Safety Department. This position coordinates and relays requests for assistance from the campus community and the general public to Public Safety Officers while providing exceptional customer service to students, employees, visitors, and guests. The Dispatcher also performs a variety of administrative duties, maintains department records, and serves as the College''s information operator during designated hours.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in typing and data entry.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide exceptional customer service.
    • Ability to accurately manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • No criminal record.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous dispatch or public safety communications experience.
    • Experience working with computer databases and recordkeeping systems.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and relay requests for assistance from the campus community and the general public to Public Safety Officers.
    • Answer incoming telephone calls and assist callers by providing information, directions, and campus assistance.
    • Serve as the College''s information operator during designated hours by providing directory assistance to callers.
    • Maintain accurate logs of radio transmissions, telephone calls, visitor requests, complaints, and other significant incidents occurring during each shift.
    • Process parking citations and enter data into departmental computer systems.
    • Maintain electronic and hard-copy departmental records, including case files and traffic citation records.
    • Record and maintain documentation for keys, packages, funds, and receipts received by the Public Safety Office.
    • Keep the Public Safety office organized, professional, and orderly.
    • Communicate effectively with officers, campus departments, students, employees, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Schedule

    Full-time, 12-month position

    Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

    Eligibility to Work

    Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and must not require visa sponsorship from the College, either now or in the future.
