Dishwasher / Utility Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher / Utility Worker to join our kitchen team. This individual plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen tools, equipment, and facilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Dishwashing & Sanitation

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items using industrial dishwashing machines or by hand.

  • Ensure all cleaned items are properly sanitized and stored.

  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

• Kitchen Support

  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, drains, walls, and surfaces.

  • Remove trash and recycling from kitchen areas and dispose of it in designated containers.

  • Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing kitchen storage.

  • Sweep and mop floors regularly to maintain a hygienic work area.

• Utility Work

  • Support chefs and kitchen staff with prep work as needed (e.g., peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients).

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen storage areas, including walk-ins and dry storage.

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines as outlined by local health departments and company policy.

• Equipment Maintenance

  • Inspect and clean dishwashing equipment daily to ensure proper operation.

  • Report any mechanical or maintenance issues to management promptly.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role is preferred but not required.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

• Capacity to work in a hot, fast-paced environment.

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and bend, stoop, and reach frequently.

• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
