JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Function: Assists in meal service. Responsible for general housekeeping of the kitchen and washing of dishes.

Essential Functions:

• Transports dishes to the appropriate dish washing area and return dishes to kitchen and dining room.
• Keeps wait staff supplied with adequate dishes and silver ware.
• Responsible for safeguarding privacy and confidentiality of all resident health care information which includes complying with all HIPAA regulations.
• Interact positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment.
• Responsible for sanitary conditions, infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this position.
• Immediately report incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident's rights.
• Responsible for maintenance, care and safe use of supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

• Physical condition allowing for normal Kitchen duties including but not limited to; lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking an entire shift, use of arms and hands with dexterity, ability to read and understand directions.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly manner to residents and coworkers in English.
• Comfortable working in a Christian Retirement Center environment.

Working Conditions:

• Kitchen areas
• Exposed to steam, hot water, food and equipment
• Typical health care facility exposure when working with the elderly resident including potential injury or infection

Schedule and Pay Information:

• Starting Pay: $15.00 -$15.75 per hour
• Hours: weekdays/evenings/weekends
