POSITION SUMMARY
The Dishwasher / Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen at Don Julio Restaurant Group. This position ensures all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and food preparation tools are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. The Dishwasher / Steward supports overall kitchen operations and reflects Don Julio’s “Culture of Yes” by contributing to a clean, organized, and team-oriented back-of-house environment where pride, passion, and hospitality come first.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils using industrial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing station at all times.
• Take out trash, clean trash bins, and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
• Assist in deep cleaning tasks, including kitchen floors, walls, drains, and equipment.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards to meet health code requirements.
• Support the kitchen staff by restocking clean items and assisting with setup/breakdown.
• Report any damaged or missing equipment to management promptly.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the kitchen and restaurant operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older per Florida labor law. Cannot be behind the bar if under 21 years of age.
• No prior experience required; training provided for the right candidate.
• Reliable, consistent, and punctual.
• Ability to work in a high-heat, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must be detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness and safety.
• Willingness to take direction and work as part of a kitchen team.
• Must follow Don Julio Restaurant Group’s uniform and grooming policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Lift, carry, and push heavy loads (up to 50 pounds).
• Bend, stoop, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
• Work in a hot and humid kitchen environment.
• Use commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning tools safely.
