    We are a large, established, and rapidly growing civil engineering and construction company looking for an experienced Dirt Crew Foreman to join our team. We offer the stability of an established company along with the opportunity to grow with an expanding organization.

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong civil construction experience who can effectively manage a crew while also operating heavy equipment and maintaining productivity on the job site.

    The Dirt Crew Foreman will oversee a crew of 10+ employees, coordinate daily activities, operate heavy equipment, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.

    Responsibilities

    Supervise and manage a dirt crew of 10+ employees.

    Plan and coordinate daily crew activities and assignments.

    Monitor job progress and communicate project needs to management.

    Operate and demonstrate proficiency with:

    Dozers

    Trackhoes/Excavators

    Tractors with dirt pans

    Other heavy construction equipment as needed

    Utilize Trimble GPS systems for grading, excavation, elevations, and site layout.

    Read and understand construction plans, grades, elevations, and site specifications.

    Ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently according to project requirements.

    Inspect equipment daily and identify mechanical or maintenance issues.

    Perform or schedule routine preventive maintenance, including greasing, fueling, checking fluids, and general equipment upkeep.

    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

    Train, direct, and provide hands-on guidance to crew members.

    Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

    Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Project Managers, equipment operators, and other crew members.

    Monitor equipment and material usage to help minimize downtime and unnecessary costs.

    Address job-site issues and make decisions to keep the crew and project moving efficiently.

    Qualifications

    3–5 years of experience in civil construction, dirt work, grading, or a similar field.

    Previous experience as a Foreman or Lead supervising construction crews preferred.

    Experience managing a crew of 10 or more employees preferred.

    Strong working knowledge of Trimble GPS systems.

    Proven ability to operate a dozer, trackhoe/excavator, and tractor with dirt pans.

    Ability to read and understand civil construction plans, grades, and elevations.

    Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and routine maintenance.

    Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate necessary repairs.

    Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding job-site duties.

    Must be available and willing to work some Saturdays as required by project schedules.

    Must have a valid driver's license.

    Must be dependable, safety-minded, and willing to lead by example.
