If you're passionate about using technology to improve human life, this is where your work truly mattersWhat you will accomplish in this roleThe DT&I Training and Education Director is responsible for leading the strategy, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of training and education work across the Digital Transformation & Innovation portfolio. This role provides day-to-day leadership for managers, instructional designers, and education team members who design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that support DT&I products, initiatives, and transformation efforts. The Director serves as a key operational leader for the DT&I Training and Education team. This includes helping the team prioritize work, align resources to portfolio needs, manage competing deadlines, identify risks and dependencies, and ensure education deliverables are coordinated across technical, clinical, change management, strategy, product, and operational partners. The role requires strong judgement, clear communication, and the ability to bring structure to complex and rapidly evolving work. The Director is a learning and development leader with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, competency development, and education delivery in complex healthcare environments. This leader is responsible for ensuring that education strategies are practical, scalable, learner-centered, and aligned to the needs of clinicians, operators, leaders, and other health-related professionals across HCA Healthcare. The role partners closely with DT&I leadership, product and project teams, business stakeholders, change management, and facility and division partners. The Director ensures that education work supports adoption, behavior change, interprofessional collaboration, and safe, effective transformation of care delivery. What you will do in this role:Team Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and support managers, instructional designers, and education team members responsible for DT&I training and education work. Set clear expectations, priorities, and accountability for team deliverables. Support team members in managing workload, resolving barriers, and delivering high-quality work on time. Foster a collaborative, practical, and improvement-focused team environment. Portfolio Coordination and ExecutionServe as the central coordination point for DT&I Training and Education work across the portfolio. Align education resources, timelines, and deliverables to DT&I priorities, product needs, project plans, and implementation schedules. Monitor active work, competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and resource capacity. Escalate risks, barriers, and key decisions to the AVP as appropriate. Education Strategy and QualityLead the development of practical, scalable, and learner-centered education strategies for DT&I products and initiatives. Oversee assessment, gap analysis, instructional design, development, implementation, and evaluation of education deliverables. Ensure education approaches are grounded in adult learning principles, role-based workflows, competency development, and learner needs. Use metrics, feedback, and learner outcomes to improve education quality, effectiveness, and consistency. Stakeholder Partnerships and CommunicationBuild and maintain strong partnerships with DT&I teams, clinical and operational stakeholders, facility and division leaders, and education partners across HCA Healthcare. Communicate education priorities, timelines, status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders and leaders. Facilitate collaboration through workgroups, stakeholder meetings, and other forums as needed. Represent Training and Education in cross functional planning to ensure education needs are identified early and integrated into broader DT&I work. What qualifications you will need:Undergraduate degree - RequiredSpecialty skills in educational design, development, implementation and evaluation - Required5+ years' experience in andragogy and adult learning styles - Required5+ years' experience leading education and training projects - RequiredMaster's degree in healthcare, education/training, or related domain - RequiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, BEHAVIORS:Demonstrated ability to lead managers, instructional designers, and education professionals in complex, fast-paced environments. Strong ability to coordinate multiple priorities, workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines across a portfolio of work. Ability to serve as an operational integrator, connecting strategy, people, resources, timelines, and execution. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, competency development, and education evaluation.Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical learning experiences. Strong leadership, coaching, team development, and performance management skills. Excellent organizational, prioritization, time-management, and follow-through skills. Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and executive communication skills. Ability to build, develop, and sustain strong relationships with individuals, teams, leaders, and external partners. Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to guide groups toward alignment, decisions, and action. Demonstrated skill in creative and innovative approaches to education deliverables. Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and bring clarity, structure, and momentum to evolving work. Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and barriers and escalate or resolve them appropriately. Experience using educational technology, learning platforms, or digital tools to support learning, adoption, and care transformation.
