As a Director, Tax Planning Specialist, you'll serve as a leading expert on sophisticated tax planning strategies and education for high-net-worth individuals. Beyond providing advanced tax guidance, you'll help shape how tax planning capabilities are leveraged across Schwab Wealth Advisory, enabling advisors to address complex client needs and deliver greater value.

In this highly visible role, you'll partner with senior Wealth Advisors, Financial Consultants, and key stakeholders to navigate complex planning scenarios, educate strategic partners, and enhance the delivery of tax-related advice. Your expertise will strengthen client outcomes, build advisor confidence, and expand the impact of Schwab's advisory offering.

This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in sophisticated planning strategies, broaden your organizational influence, and help advance Schwab's tax planning capabilities through strategic collaboration and thought leadership.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• Tax Planning: Ability to apply advanced tax knowledge to develop strategies that help clients optimize short- and long-term tax outcomes.
• Diagnostic Information Gathering: Ability to uncover stated and unstated client needs to identify opportunities for planning recommendations and additional services.
• Communication: Ability to translate complex tax topics into clear, actionable guidance for clients, advisors, and business partners.
• Building Collaborative Relationships: Ability to develop trusted partnerships with Financial Consultants and Wealth Advisors to drive client outcomes and referrals.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to deliver effective education and insights to small and large audiences, increasing awareness and adoption of tax planning services.

Additional Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• CPA, LLM, or MBA/EA combination required
• Active FINRA Series 65 license
• • May be obtained with a 120-day condition of employment
• Ability to travel approximately 10%-15%

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
