Director Strategic Sourcing

What We Offer: The Director of Strategic Sourcing works cross functionally with all Institute Leaders, Market Leaders and key stakeholders in the delivery of care to enable year over year value through the implementation of sourcing strategies aimed at improving price positions, reducing unwarranted clinical variation and improving utilization of clinical devices and drugs. This position works together with each Institute clinical leader, each institute admin leader, external contracting coalitions, nursing leaders, operations teams, procurement, vendor and data teams, vendors, business and diversity and inclusion teams.

What We Offer:

The Director of Strategic Sourcing works cross functionally with all Institute Leaders, Market Leaders and key stakeholders in the delivery of care to enable year over year value through the implementation of sourcing strategies aimed at improving price positions, reducing unwarranted clinical variation and improving utilization of clinical devices and drugs. The Director manages and grows a team of sourcing leaders, sets strategic direction, and interfaces with the business, as well clinical leaders, operations leaders, to understand requirements and deliver value, minimize disruption, and meet savings goals budgeted. This position works together with each Institute clinical leader, each institute admin leader, external contracting coalitions, nursing leaders, operations teams, procurement, vendor and data teams, vendors, business and diversity and inclusion teams. The role will focus principally on the strategic implementation of value impact and innovation projects throughout the organization. The Director partners with senior leadership, clinical leaders and analytics and finance teams.

What We're Looking For:

• Education:
  • Bachelor degree, required. Graduate degree, required. MBA preferred.
• Experience:
  • 4 years required in sourcing, category management, contract negotiation.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • Business skills: Strong organization relationship building skills, including talent retention and establishing links across Novant Health’s Institutes and Markets divisions and functions.
  • Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills.
  • World class supplier relationship skills.
  • Technical skills: Strategic ability to develop and execute high-impact sourcing strategies.
  • Analytic ability to understand and define most critical issues (total cost of ownership, make vs lease vs buy, NPV, ROI).
  • Strong negotiating skills based on a thorough understanding of categories, sales/marketing practices, industry trends, etc.
