Job Description:

The Director, Short Duration Sales will join a growing institutional sales platform in New York. This role sits at the intersection of Agency Trading, Funding, Commercial Paper (CP), Asset-Backed Commercial Paper (ABCP), Global Repo, Debt Capital Markets, and Front-End U.S. Rates, providing clients with comprehensive liquidity, funding, and short-duration investment solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding TD's institutional investor relationships while helping drive growth across our Agency Trading and funding franchises.

Working closely with trading, funding, repo, rates, agency, and origination teams, the successful candidate will help grow one of TD Securities' most strategically important client franchises while contributing directly to business development, product innovation, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and grow relationships with institutional investors including Asset Managers, Money Market Funds, Public Funds and Municipal Investors, Insurance Companies, Corporate Treasuries, Hedge Funds, Official Institutions.
• Market and execute short-duration investment and funding solutions including Agency Discount Notes (DN), Agency Floatters, Callables, Bullets, Commercial Paper (CP), Asset-Backed Commercial Paper (ABCP), Yankee CDs, Deposits, Treasury Bills, Short-Dated U.S. Treasuries, Repo and Reverse Repo, Sponsored Repo Solutions, Money Market and Liquidity Products.
• Partner with Global Repo, US Rates, Funding, Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, and Corporate Banking teams.
• Drive coordinated client strategy across product verticals.
• Identify opportunities to improve balance sheet efficiency and return on capital.
• Originate cross-product opportunities that enhance TD's broader client franchise.  
• Own individual revenue objectives and client growth plans.
• Develop strategic account plans for key clients.
• Contribute to franchise growth initiatives.
• Represent TD Securities at industry conferences and client events.
• Help expand TD's position as a leading provider of institutional liquidity and funding solutions.

Depth & Scope:

• Liaises with the Banks other operations in New York to assist in meeting the Banks objectives
• Strict adherence personally and at a desk level to the firms procedures
• Fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound and well informed decisions
• Develops and maintains contacts with market participants
• Responsible for practicing and communicating bank policy information and strategy between your product head and relevant trading personnel
• Understands and complies with TD Securities (USA) Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring that transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner
• Responsible for being aware of and understanding the approved Business Strategies (Strategic Business Reviews SBRs), applicable to your business, and ensuring that all of your business dealings are in alignment with these strategies
• If you are a Trader or are in a Hybrid role, in your capacity as a Trader, you are bound by your Trading Authority Letter (TAL)
• If you are a Trader or are in a Hybrid role, in your capacity as a Trader, you are bound by the Market Risk Policies applicable to your business and are responsible for being aware of and understanding the approved Trading Strategies (associated with the respective Market Risk Policies) applicable to your business, and ensuring that all of your trading activity is in alignment with those Strategies
• If you are a Trader or are in a Hybrid role, in your capacity as a Trader or Trading Supervisor of an employee acting in a Trading capacity, you are responsible for ensuring that trades are entered into the trading system on a timely basis and for ensuring that positions are appropriately valued
• If you are in a Sales or Hybrid role, in your Sales role capacity, you must obtain a current market price from an appropriate trader, either verbally or electronically, prior to entering into a binding transaction
• Bound by Credit Risk Policies and procedures, as they apply to your business and are responsible for being aware of and understanding such policies and procedures and ensuring that trading activity is in line with those policies
• Required to read and understand the Trading Supervision Standard
• Required to demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices

Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
• Series 7 and 63
• 7-10 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years (VP) or 10+ years (Director) of institutional fixed income sales experience
• Demonstrated experience covering institutional investors
• Strong understanding of:
  • Fixed income markets
  • Money markets
  • Repo and funding markets
  • Interest rate products
  • Liquidity management
• Proven track record of business development and revenue generation
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong commercial instincts and client relationship management capabilities
• Experience in short-duration investing, repo, funding, treasury products, or money markets
• Existing institutional investor relationships
• Bloomberg proficiency
• Knowledge of regulatory liquidity frameworks influencing investors and funding markets
