    Director / Senior Director, Facilities & Corporate Services | Marlborough, MA | 6-Month Contract

    Sigma Systems is seeking an experienced Director/Senior Director, Facilities & Corporate Services for a 6-month contract opportunity in Marlborough, MA. This is a senior-level facilities leadership position responsible for property management, workplace operations, laboratory support, EH&S, vendors, workplace services, capital projects, and corporate facilities across a large life sciences campus and satellite offices.

    Key Responsibilities

    Facilities & Property Management

    • Manage day-to-day property management and facility operations for a 335,000-square-foot Marlborough campus.
    • Oversee operations for a 7,000-square-foot West Coast satellite office and shared New York City office.
    • Lead a team of approximately 4–5 employees along with outsourced/flexible vendor support.
    • Ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
    • Manage building services and workplace operations across multiple locations.

    Building & Facility Operations

    Oversee and coordinate services including:

    • Janitorial services
    • Landscaping
    • Snow removal
    • HVAC
    • Utilities
    • Physical security
    • Mailroom operations
    • Reception services
    • EH&S / Environmental Health & Safety
    • General facility maintenance and repairs

    Laboratory Operations Support

    • Support chemistry laboratory operations at the Marlborough campus.
    • Collaborate directly with research scientists to understand and address facility-related needs.
    • Coordinate facilities services required to support core research activities.
    • Help ensure laboratory environments remain functional, safe, and appropriately supported.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors when laboratory facility issues arise.

    Café & Catering Operations

    • Manage café and catering operations at the Marlborough location.
    • Coordinate food service vendors and workplace hospitality services.
    • Support changing onsite attendance and business needs.
    • Ensure café and catering services meet workplace expectations.

    Meetings & Events

    • Partner with the Meeting Planning team to support onsite meetings, conferences, events, and corporate activities.
    • Coordinate facilities, workplace services, room readiness, vendors, and other onsite requirements.
    • Respond quickly to changing meeting and event needs.

    IT & Information Security Support

    • Collaborate with IT teams to support onsite technology and infrastructure requirements.
    • Assist with facilities-related requirements associated with InfoSec and ISO standards.
    • Coordinate physical workplace needs related to IT, security, access, and infrastructure.
    • Help resolve onsite issues through effective communication with internal technical teams and vendors.

    Issue Resolution & Operational Leadership

    • Triage facilities, workplace, maintenance, and operational issues.
    • Assess priorities and determine appropriate solutions.
    • Communicate issues, impacts, and resolutions effectively to stakeholders.
    • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to resolve problems quickly.
    • Maintain a high level of service while balancing competing priorities.

    Autonomous Leadership

    • Work independently with limited management oversight.
    • Translate high-level direction into actionable facilities and workplace plans.
    • Serve as a self-starter who can identify issues and initiate solutions without extensive supervision.
    • Make sound operational decisions based on business priorities and changing circumstances.

    Flexible Workplace Environment

    • Adapt facilities operations to a primarily remote corporate environment.
    • Adjust onsite services based on changing employee attendance and business activity.
    • Flex resources and vendor support as onsite needs increase or decrease.
    • Maintain operational readiness despite variable daily onsite requirements.

    Emergency & Off-Hours Support

    • Be available for occasional off-hours facilities emergencies.
    • Respond to urgent repairs, break/fix situations, building issues, and other critical facility needs.
    • Coordinate emergency response with appropriate vendors and internal stakeholders.
