The Director of Surgical Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all surgical departments, aligning departmental resources to meet organizational milestones. In this leadership capacity, you will architect and execute operational blueprints, clinical guidelines, and regulatory benchmarks that support safety, ethics, and compliance. Additionally, you will supervise and assess daily perioperative operations to maintain exceptional clinical performance and rigorous quality control standards.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical objective of the organization.

  • Direct and evaluate departmental operations including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

  • Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

  • Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, and ensure that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

  • Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.

  • Utilize nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of pediatric patients from admission to department through discharge or transfer.

  • Provide expert care and education to patients in clinical setting, act as patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel.

  • Manage patient loads in assigned timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Current (or eligible) Montana RN license required.

  • Five years experience as a Surgical Services RN.

  • Five years experience as a leader at the Director level.

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire.

  • PALS and ACLS within six (6) months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MSN, Healthcare Administration, and MBA) strongly preferred.
