Job Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and relationship-focused Director, Revenue Cycle – Physician Practices to provide strategic oversight and coordination of the professional revenue cycle for a growing physician enterprise.

This position is focused exclusively on the professional/physician revenue cycle and is different from a traditional Revenue Cycle Director role responsible for managing a large internal billing or collections department.

The organization's revenue cycle operations are supported by an outsourced Revenue Cycle Management partner. Therefore, this position serves as a critical liaison among:

· The Physician Practice/Physician Enterprise leadership

· The outsourced Revenue Cycle Management partner

· Employed and contracted physicians

· Operational and executive leadership

· Information Systems and other internal stakeholders

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of professional revenue cycle operations, physician billing, charge capture, revenue cycle performance metrics, vendor management, and physician compensation concepts. This individual must be comfortable working through influence, collaboration, communication, data analysis, and stakeholder management, rather than relying solely on direct operational authority.

This is an excellent opportunity for a revenue cycle leader who enjoys serving as a strategic connector between physicians, operational leadership, and external RCM partners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or another related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations or a closely related field.

· Demonstrated experience with professional revenue cycle operations, preferably supporting physician practices, physician groups, medical groups, or employed physician organizations.

· Experience working directly with physicians, physician leadership, providers, and/or senior operational stakeholders.

· Experience overseeing, managing, or working closely with an outsourced Revenue Cycle Management organization or third-party revenue cycle vendor.

· Strong understanding of professional billing and physician revenue cycle processes.

· Experience reviewing and interpreting revenue cycle performance metrics and reports.

· Knowledge of A/R, denials, collections, billing performance, reimbursement trends, and other key professional revenue cycle indicators.

· Experience with healthcare billing compliance and applicable Medicare and Medicaid requirements.

· Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and external partners.

· Ability to influence outcomes and drive accountability in an environment where not all operational resources report directly to the position.
