About the Role

As the Director, Retail and Strategic Channels, you will lead Sound Uniteds growth across major national retail and service-provider partners. Based in Minneapolis, you will be driving revenue, expanding distribution, and strengthening retail partnerships across key national accounts.

You will develop joint business plans, drive retail execution strategies, and partner closely with field teams to grow Sound Uniteds premium audio brands, including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Classé, and Definitive Technology.

You will also lead inside and outside sales teams focused on national accounts, field execution, and retail partner support.

What You Will Do

To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong blend of strategic leadership, retail expertise, and operational discipline. You should be comfortable managing complex national accounts while driving execution across multiple channels and teams.

  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • A data-driven approach to business management and forecasting
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to drive clarity, accountability, and execution

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in North America consumer electronics or related technology categories.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing national retail accounts (Best Buy or any other major retail partners or technology retailers).
  • Strong leadership experience managing field sales teams, inside sales teams, or rep organizations.
  • Experience developing and executing joint business plans with large retail partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, category expansion, and market share gains.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with senior retail stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial planning capabilities.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willing to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
  • Willing to work remotely from a home office in Minneapolis, with a commute to other Harman offices as needed.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
