We are seeking an accomplished Director of Rehabilitation Research – Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Division to provide scientific and strategic leadership for a rehabilitation research program in Houston, Texas. This executive-level opportunity is designed for an established research leader with a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and significant experience directing scientific programs, developing federally funded research, and advancing high-impact research initiatives.
The Director will help shape the scientific direction and research portfolio of the SCI Division, providing leadership across program development, funding strategy, research design, data analysis, and scientific publication. They should bring at least seven years of leadership experience as a program director, department head, principal investigator, or in a comparable capacity and understand how to build and manage a sophisticated scientific research portfolio.
A particularly strong candidate will combine federal grant strategy, scientific publication, research design, data analysis, and executive-level program management with the ability to establish a long-term vision for rehabilitation and SCI research.
$143,000 – $180,000 annually
Compensation within the listed range will be determined based on the candidate's research leadership experience, scientific expertise, funding and grant-development background, qualifications, publication record, and overall alignment with the position.
At Tap Healthcare Solutions, we recognize that opportunities at this level need to align with more than a candidate's credentials. For an established scientific leader, the right position should provide the scope, institutional environment, and leadership responsibility necessary to advance both an important research mission and the next stage of their career.
Our team will work with you throughout the hiring process with clear, direct communication and attention to the experience you've built. We aim to connect accomplished research leaders with opportunities where their scientific expertise, funding strategy, research leadership, and long-term vision can have a meaningful impact.
