OCAH delivers wraparound clinical and non-clinical support to dual-eligible (D-SNP) members at scale across the country. This senior individual contributor and matrix leader sits within the Network Enablement & Innovation team in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.
The role decides which provider collaborations to advance, pilot, scale, or stop; leads the conversations with provider group leaders; and sets direction that product, clinical, operations, data, and technology teams execute against. It operates with significant autonomy from leadership on strategic matters, is recognized as the functional authority for provider enablement and engagement, and makes decisions with substantial clinical, financial, and operational impact on OCAH members, customers, and the provider network.
Authority comes from strategy ownership, decision rights, and cross-functional leadership. Direct reports and independent budget ownership are not established in the current scope of the role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy ownership and decision rights
Own the PCP enablement and engagement strategy and innovation agenda for OCAH, including vision, priorities, roadmap, and success measures, grounded in clinical and financial performance data
Decide which collaborations, pilots, and incentive concepts move forward, scale, change, or stop for specific provider groups; bring only the decisions that require senior management approval, with a clear recommendation and the risk of inaction
Set direction for multiple teams across product, clinical, operations, network/provider partnerships, data, and technology who execute against the strategy
Make decisions with substantial clinical, financial, and operational impact and remain accountable for the outcomes
Provider and partner leadership
Lead engagement with external and internal provider groups to improve care coordination, advance OCAH clinical interventions, and drive better patient outcomes, including influencing senior leaders at external provider organizations
Ensure OCAH fulfills key commitments to customers related to provider engagement and clinical care coordination
Be recognized as the functional authority for provider enablement and engagement across Optum and UnitedHealthcare, and lead strategy execution by influencing internal teams and stakeholders
Pilots, workflows, and scale
Devise, pilot, and scale strategies that improve clinical and financial performance through clinical collaboration with provider groups and incentive planning
Oversee the creation and adoption of new or updated workflows, internal and external, in partnership with clinician leaders and cross-functional teams
Drive the scaling of existing provider network engagement capabilities, especially by leveraging technology and AI
Data, reporting, and interoperability
Drive data and reporting alignment that supports clinical collaboration with provider groups and key business decisions
Align OCAH's interoperability strategy with the broader provider enablement and engagement strategy
Vendors, governance, and risk
Lead vendor vetting and contracting as needed, in partnership with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Technology
Document decisions, assumptions, owners, dependencies, risks, and outcomes; escalate material clinical, financial, operational, privacy, security, or compliance risks through established governance channels
Protect confidential patient, provider, workforce, and business information and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the role's purpose and level
You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
