About the Team

The Payments Platform is key to powering Capital One’s current and future financial products. At destination, we aim to empower customers with real-time intelligent payment experiences which are seamless, personalized and resilient. We are a multi-tenant platform, with services that span across the end-to-end journey for payments for Capital One’s consumer loan products.

As a Director, Product Management, Payments, you will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for defining and delivering the future of Discover customer payment experiences and capabilities across credit cards and personal loans. You will play a critical leadership role in integrating Discover onto Capital One’s payments platform, while driving the next generation of payment capabilities that will serve tens of millions of customers.

Adept at navigating ambiguity and possessing a deep passion for architecting elegant platform solutions, this leader will bridge the gap between business intent and engineering excellence, partnering with technical leads to build systems that are as robust as they are innovative. As part of the role, you will:

• Create a long-term roadmap that supports a broader enterprise vision and industry trends
• Engage Lines of Business (LOBs) to define, prioritize and build reusable capabilities to support payment strategies across the company
• Partner closely with Tech to ensure that the platform architecture can support existing and emerging value drivers
• Collaborate with Program to create and maintain well-defined and sustainable communication channels with our LOB partners
• Ensure the platform is accurate and performant
• Develop and align on the platform’s data posture
• Drive tooling to improve reconciliation
• Enable AI adoption and value

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in any field and at least 5 years of Product Management experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Product Management

Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management
