Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Brand and Product Director to take ownership of the stock to semi-custom brands within Masterbrand Cabinets. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing an end-to-end strategy to drive growth, innovation, and market leadership for the brand. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of strategic thinking, leadership, product and brand management, preferably in the cabinet manufacturing industry.
The leader will be accountable for the full spectrum of marketing functional excellence: strategic marketing, brand strategy, product management, channel marketing, and marketing communications. The role will be responsible for leading, managing and mentoring, in collaboration with all other functional leaders, the development of the strategic plan, the performance, and the action plans to implement the commercial and operational elements of the strategy for the brand. Strong, collaborative partnerships are especially critical to success. The leader will be assessed based on the financial performance and, most importantly, growth of the brand.
It is vital that the individual is strategic in their thought process, and able to translate the strategy into action. Successful outcomes will require exceptional communication, internal and external relationship-building and influencing skills, as well as leadership and change management ability.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Strategic Leadership and Brand Strategy
Develop and execute an end-to-end strategy to grow the [premium] brand and solidify its market position
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats
Identify market opportunities and trends to drive innovation and differentiation
Collaborate with senior leadership to align the brand's goals with overall business objectives and MBC portfolio strategy
Financial. Commercial and Operational Performance
Monitor and manage product costs, margins, financial performance
Prepare and present financial analyses and reports on brand performance
Monitor commercial and operational performance and, in conjunction with the commercial and operations teams, identify and support actions driving improvement
Product Management and Innovation
Product expert
Accountable for the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs and business objectives
Develop detailed product specifications, requirements, and roadmaps
Manage the entire product lifecycle, including updates, enhancements, and end-of-life decisions
Strategic Pricing
Develop pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness and profitability
Channel Marketing and Dealer Training
Responsible for channel marketing and communications
Ensure training content aligns with the premium positioning and value proposition of the brand
Support implementation of training programs to enhance brand knowledge for internal teams and customers
Promotion and Sales Support
Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and execute promotional strategies and campaigns
Provide sales teams with product training, sales tools, and support materials
Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and industry events to promote products and gather market intelligence
Performance Analysis
Measure the effectiveness of brand and product strategies using key performance indicators.
Use data-driven insights to refine and enhance strategies
Team leadership
Lead and mentor a team supporting marketing efforts, training programs, and graphic design.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other departments to ensure successful product development and delivery.
Facilitate effective communication and coordination across teams to achieve product goals.
Resolve issues and remove obstacles to ensure product success.
Travel as business needs require, estimated 25-50%.
Qualifications
Work Environment:
This is a remote position or hybrid, with preferred locations near the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate should be capable of working efficiently and independently from their home office to fulfill assigned tasks and meet deadlines. As a remote employee the candidate will need internet connectivity capable of supporting virtual communication tools that allow for collaboration with team members, attendance of meetings, and participation in company activities.
