Care.com is a consumer tech company with heart. We're on a mission to solve a human challenge we all face: finding great care for the ones we love. We're moms and dads and pet parents. We have parents and grandparents so we understand that everyone, at some point in their lives, could use a helping hand. Our culture and our products reflect that.

Here, entrepreneurs, teammates, and big problem solvers unite behind a common cause. Here, we're applying data analytics, AI and the latest technologies to tackle universal problems and connect people in new ways. If you like having autonomy, if you flourish with collaboration and building new things, and if you're all about using your talent for good, Care.com is the place for you.

Care.com is looking for a Director of Product - Marketplace to lead one of the company''s most strategic product areas: connecting families with the right caregivers-and helping caregivers find the right opportunities.

This leader will own the end-to-end marketplace fulfillment experience across both sides of our marketplace. From how families create jobs and discover caregivers, to how we match supply and demand, rank search results, and expand caregiver supply beyond today''s marketplace, you''ll shape the experiences that determine whether our marketplace succeeds.

This role sits at the intersection of marketplace strategy, AI-driven matching, search, recommendations, and customer experience. You''ll partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, and Analytics to improve marketplace liquidity, increase successful hires, and unlock new sources of supply that help more families find care when they need it. We''re looking for a product leader who is deeply customer obsessed, highly analytical, comfortable making strategic bets, and excited to solve complex marketplace challenges at scale.

What You''ll Be Working On

  • Own the Marketplace Fulfillment Strategy: Define and execute the product vision for helping families successfully find and hire caregivers while enabling caregivers to discover and secure meaningful work. Develop long-term strategies that improve marketplace health, liquidity, and customer success.
  • Lead Matching, Search & Discovery: Own the experiences that connect families and caregivers, including job posting, search, recommendations, ranking, AI-powered matching, and marketplace discovery. Continuously improve relevance, speed, and quality of matches across web and mobile.
  • Expand Marketplace Supply: Develop innovative approaches to increase caregiver availability beyond today''s marketplace. Partner across the organization to identify new supply channels, onboarding experiences, partnerships, and product capabilities that increase choice and improve fulfillment for families.
  • Drive Product Execution: Lead cross-functional product teams from strategy through execution. Define roadmaps, prioritize investments, write product requirements, and partner with Engineering and Design to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Use Data to Improve Marketplace Outcomes: Define and own the metrics that matter-from marketplace liquidity and successful hires to search quality, application rates, caregiver engagement, and customer satisfaction. Leverage experimentation, analytics, and customer research to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Champion AI-Powered Experiences: Partner with Data Science and Engineering to incorporate AI and machine learning into matching, personalization, recommendations, and marketplace optimization, ensuring customers find the right care with greater confidence and efficiency.
  • Influence Across the Organization: Build alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, and executive leadership. Clearly communicate strategy, priorities, and results while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer obsession.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including significant experience leading teams and complex customer-facing products.
  • Experience building and scaling marketplace, search, matching, recommendation, or discovery products.
  • Proven success defining product vision and translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, including balancing supply and demand, improving liquidity, and optimizing conversion.
  • Experience leveraging experimentation, customer research, and data to inform product decisions.
  • Passion for applying AI and machine learning to create better customer experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • Experience with two-sided marketplaces, consumer products, subscriptions, or commerce platforms is strongly preferred.

About the Company

C

Care.com, Inc.

Care is a global need without geographic or demographic boundaries. At some point, every person and every family will have care needs, be it for children, seniors, pets or even homes. Our mission is to improve the lives of families and caregivers by helping them connect in a reliable and easy way. Our solutions help families make informed decisions in one of the most important and highly considered aspects of their family life: finding and managing quality care for their loved ones. In providing families a comprehensive marketplace for care, we are also building the largest global destination for quality caregivers to find fulfilling employment and career opportunities. We strive to help our members - families and caregivers - pursue their passions and fulfill the basic human need of caring for each other.

Founder and CEO Sheila Lirio Marcelo wanted to transform the way families and businesses around the world address their care needs. Care.com launched in the U.S. in 2007 and today, we are the world's largest online marketplace for finding and managing family care, with more than 30.8 million members, spanning over 20 countries.

Care.com's premise is simple: Our consumer matching solutions allow families to search for, qualify, vet, connect with, and ultimately select caregivers in a low-cost, reliable and easy way. Our platform also provides caregivers with solutions to create personal profiles, describe their unique skills and experience, and otherwise differentiate themselves in a highly fragmented marketplace.

We understand that care is an exceptionally personal matter and impacts the most important aspect of families' lives which is why we provide an array of services and resources to help families make safer and more informed hiring decisions. The Care.com Safety Center offers a comprehensive Safety Guide, which details numerous tools, resources and tips to assist families through the search and hiring process. Through third-parties, we also offer three tiers of background checks which vary in comprehensiveness.

Care.com's global footprint began to expand in 2012 when we launched in the UK and Canada, followed by the acquisition of Berlin-based Besser Betreut, the largest online care portal in Europe. In every territory in which we operate, the fundamental service remains the same but is tailored to meet the unique cultural needs of its membership.

As Care.com has grown, so has the scope of the products and services we offer. Our consumer payments solutions enable families to not only electronically pay a caregiver but also subscribe for tax preparation services through our Care.com HomePay product. We have also expanded our marketplace beyond the direct family-to-caregiver interaction. We currently serve employers by providing access to our platform to more than 600,000 employer-sponsored families, and we enable care-related businesses, such as daycare centers, nanny agencies and home care agencies, to market their services to our care-seeking families and recruit our caregiver members.
