Client: Leading Entertainment Firm      
Title: Director, Procurement Production (Media/ Entertainment/ Streaming)
Location: New York, NY 10036 / Hollywood, CA 90038 / Nashville, TN 37201 – Hybrid
Duration: 9 months (Extension/Conversion will be based on performance)
Pay Rate: ($95 - $100) on an hourly basis
 
Position Overview:
  • We are seeking an experienced Director, Procurement – Production to lead strategic procurement and sourcing initiatives within a fast-paced media and entertainment environment.
  • This role is ideal for a senior procurement/sourcing leader who can work independently with senior executives, lead procurement operating routines, manage vendor strategy and negotiations, build analytics and reporting, and drive process improvement across complex, time-sensitive business activities.
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at a senior level, influencing stakeholders, creating structure in evolving environments, and translating procurement data and business requirements into clear recommendations for leadership.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, production operations, production finance, vendor management, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement and/or strategic sourcing leadership.
  • Proven experience working directly with senior executives, ideally SVP level or above, with the ability to operate independently and lead executive-level discussions.
  • Experience building and managing operating cadences, governance routines, KPIs, performance frameworks, or similar business management processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated experience developing procurement dashboards, KPIs, data analysis, and management reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong data/analytical skills.
  • Experience with procurement, project management, ERP, or workflow platforms such as Asana, Smartsheet, Fusion, Airtable, or equivalent systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors, sourcing initiatives, negotiations, or supplier relationships.
  • Strong stakeholder influence, communication, and change leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize strategically and deliver results in fast-paced, highly cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches.
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to create structure, drive accountability, and close open issues.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic procurement and sourcing activities, including vendor strategy, negotiations, supplier coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Establish and manage procurement operating cadences, including weekly pipeline reviews, monthly business reviews, governance routines, and performance tracking.
  • Partner directly with senior executives and cross-functional leadership to communicate procurement priorities, risks, performance, and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain procurement dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and executive-level reporting using strong analytical and Excel capabilities.
  • Manage procurement workflows, initiatives, milestones, and cross-functional follow-up using project management/workflow platforms such as Asana.
  • Standardize procurement processes covering intake, prioritization, vendor comparison, approvals, stakeholder communication, escalation, and closure.
  • Track procurement value, savings, vendor performance, pipeline health, and key risk items.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement more efficient procurement workflows.
  • Support change management initiatives involving new procurement processes, tools, reporting requirements, and operating routines.
  • Work independently across procurement, finance, legal, operations, and business stakeholders to drive time-sensitive priorities through completion.
  • Prepare and present clear, actionable procurement insights to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in media, entertainment, studio, production, live events, or other project-based operating environments.
  • Direct experience supporting production procurement is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a large media or entertainment organization is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with AI-enabled Excel/data analytics or other modern analytics tools is a plus.
