Job Details

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Estimating & Preconstruction to lead and scale our preconstruction operations. In this executive-level position, you will drive pricing strategy, risk management, and profitability across high-growth sectors, including data centers, healthcare, retail, and emerging markets.

You will operate at both strategic and operational levels—building high-performing teams, establishing enterprise cost intelligence, and partnering with executive leadership to expand our market footprint.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership: Provide strategic oversight of estimating operations; mentor and scale a multi-tiered team of preconstruction professionals.

Standards & Cost Intelligence: Establish company-wide estimating benchmarks, pricing models, and cost databases to ensure accuracy across conceptual through GMP estimates.

Financial Strategy & Risk: Oversee bid/no-bid decisions, risk mitigation, margin targets, and pricing models for complex construction pursuits (overseeing $250M+ in annual pursuit value).

Preconstruction & Delivery: Direct buyout strategies, value engineering, and scheduling alignment across Design, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Client & Commercial Leadership: Serve as a senior commercial leader during major pursuits, negotiations, and executive client presentations.

Innovation & Tech: Drive the adoption of advanced estimating software, ERP integrations, data analytics, and AI-enabled workflows.

Required Qualifications
Experience: 12+ years in construction, with 6+ years leading estimating/preconstruction teams.

Scale: Proven history overseeing $250M+ in annual project pursuit value across large-scale programs.

Track Record: Demonstrated success establishing organizational standards, expanding into new markets, and optimizing estimate-to-actual profitability.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Estimating platforms (Sage, Timberline, WinEst, or BuildingConnected), Primavera P6/MS Project, and advanced Excel financial modeling.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Data Analytics, or related field.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 35%.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (MBA, MS Construction Management, etc.) or industry certifications (PMP, CPE, CCP, PE, AIA, LEED AP).

Experience in modular/industrialized construction, offsite manufacturing, data centers, or healthcare.

Familiarity with model-based estimating (BIM/Revit), ERP integrations, Python/SQL, or AI-driven estimating technologies.
