We are seeking an experienced Director of Platform Engineering to lead the strategy, modernization, reliability, and production support functions for a mission-critical fixed income electronic trading platform. This leadership role will drive cloud transformation, DevOps, SRE, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring the stability and performance of a global trading environment.

Description

As Director of Platform Engineering, you will lead the teams responsible for platform engineering, site reliability, DevOps, and production support across critical fixed income trading systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for platform engineering and production support functions.
  • Lead Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, and Production Support teams supporting front-office trading applications.
  • Drive platform modernization initiatives across Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, and containerized environments.
  • Develop and implement reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident management frameworks.
  • Own platform stability, resilience, operational readiness, and service availability across production environments.
  • Lead cloud transformation initiatives across both AWS and Azure.
  • Establish DevOps best practices, CI/CD standards, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Partner closely with trading, application development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable and highly available solutions.
  • Oversee major incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI measurement, SLA management, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering and production support teams.

Profile

Extensive leadership experience within Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or Production Support organizations.

Strong understanding of fixed income, electronic trading, capital markets, or front-office trading systems.

Proven experience managing mission-critical production environments with high availability requirements.

Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.

Strong experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

Demonstrated success implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices.

Expertise in production support, incident management, operational governance, and service management practices.

Experience building CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, and cloud-native architectures.

Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, logging, and performance engineering.

Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.

Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY.

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office.
