Description

Kforce has a client in New York, NY that is seeking a Director-Physical Security Product Strategy. The Opportunity: An established commercial security services organization is seeking a senior product leader to shape and expand its physical security technology portfolio. This person will evaluate emerging technologies, establish product direction and turn promising platforms into repeatable customer solutions. The role combines physical security expertise, product judgment and commercial strategy, with a particular emphasis on video surveillance, analytics, remote video monitoring and access control. This is a senior individual-contributor leadership role initially, with broad influence across technical, operational and commercial teams. As the portfolio grows, there may be an opportunity to build additional product and technical capabilities around the position. Key Tasks:
  • Establish product direction across commercial video, access control and related physical security technologies
  • Identify customer and market needs and translate them into a practical product roadmap
  • Evaluate manufacturers, platforms and emerging technologies based on performance, scalability, supportability and commercial potential
  • Lead product trials and coordinate technical validation with internal subject-matter experts
  • Build business cases that address pricing, margin, implementation, ongoing support and recurring-revenue potential
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, Operations and monitoring teams to develop and launch customer-ready solutions
  • Build productive relationships with security technology manufacturers and maintain visibility into their future roadmaps
  • Monitor developments in video analytics, AI, edge processing and integrated security platforms
  • Create repeatable offerings that can be sold, deployed and supported consistently

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Significant experience in the commercial physical security industry, typically 10 or more years
  • Practical experience with video analytics, video verification, remote video monitoring or AI-enabled video applications
  • Experience in product, platform, technology, solutions or related leadership roles
  • Experience evaluating security technologies and moving an offering from initial assessment through pilot and commercial launch
  • Deep knowledge of commercial video surveillance technologies and the broader video management ecosystem
  • Working knowledge of access control and how it integrates with video and intrusion systems
  • Strong commercial judgment, including an understanding of pricing, margins, support requirements and customer value
  • Strong communication skills with technical teams, sales leaders, operations teams, manufacturers and senior executives
  • The ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decisions without relying on direct authority
Candidates may come from security technology manufacturers, platform providers, managed monitoring organizations or sophisticated commercial security solution providers. Evidence of ownership and results matters more than a specific job title.
