Akkodis is seeking a Director, Pharmacovigilance Business Partner for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a global life sciences organization. This role is ideal for a senior technology leader with deep Pharmacovigilance expertise who can partner with business stakeholders, drive strategic technology initiatives, and lead the implementation and optimization of safety systems in a regulated environment.
Pay rate: $140,000. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Location: Chadds Ford, PA and Wilmington, DE
Schedule: Onsite 3-4 days per week

Position Overview
The Director, Pharmacovigilance Business Partner serves as the primary technology partner to the Pharmacovigilance organization, driving business technology strategy, solution delivery, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement. Reporting to senior leadership, this role acts as a trusted advisor between the business and IT organizations, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives and support the efficient execution of pharmacovigilance operations.
The successful candidate will leverage industry expertise, strategic thinking, and strong relationship management skills to optimize technology solutions that enhance the productivity and effectiveness of scientists, clinicians, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technology strategy development and roadmap planning for the Pharmacovigilance function.
Direct the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of business-critical systems and technology solutions.
Manage system implementations, upgrades, vendor relationships, and ongoing operational support activities.
Partner with operational and technical teams to project manage major Pharmacovigilance initiatives.
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
Collaborate with leadership to deliver cost-effective and strategically aligned technology solutions.
Ensure project timelines, support objectives, and business priorities are successfully met.
Conduct technical and business analysis and provide recommendations, business cases, and strategic plans.
Build consensus across departments regarding solution deployment, enhancement, and retirement plans.
Develop and implement solution frameworks, technology roadmaps, and governance practices.
Oversee solution launches and adoption while maximizing organizational value and business impact.
Identify opportunities for innovation and evaluate emerging technologies to address business needs.
Define and report operational support metrics and performance indicators.
Ensure compatibility of solutions with enterprise technology standards and best practices.
Lead and develop direct reports, where applicable.
Participate in strategic planning, budgeting activities, and portfolio management processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
10+ years of IT and business/industry experience.
Experience supporting Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences organizations.
Deep subject matter expertise within the Pharmacovigilance domain.
Project management experience in validated and regulated environments.
Strong understanding of Pharmacovigilance business processes, operations, and success drivers.
Experience implementing or supporting industry-leading safety systems, including:
Veeva Safety
Oracle Argus
Similar Pharmacovigilance safety platforms
Strong strategic planning and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated success leading operational initiatives and technology teams.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Proven ability to build strong relationships across business and technical organizations.
Preferred Skills
Experience serving as a business relationship manager, technology partner, or IT leader supporting Pharmacovigilance functions.
Vendor management and technology portfolio management expertise.
Strong understanding of solution lifecycle management, governance, and compliance requirements.
Experience driving organizational change and technology adoption initiatives.

Pay Details: $70.00 to $75.00 per hour
