    The Position

    As a member of the Site Management team, the incumbent of the role will be setting the strategic direction and agenda within all people related processes and organizational development to enable business priorities and Drug Product Manufacturing (DPM) US People & Organization (P&O) priorities. Further will act as the trusted advisor for the Site Head and the Site Leadership team. Ensure world class P&O initiatives, operations and processes that are "fit for purpose" at production sites and. Other tasks may be included in the role, such as leading the M&A or greenfield integration activities.

    Relationships

    The incumbent reports directly to the Head of P&O for DPM US with a matrixed reporting relations to the Site Head. Interacts with all levels of the business and partners heavily with assigned Site Leadership Team. People management responsibility of local P&O team of HR Business Partners and other HR functions. Partners and collaborates with other P&O functions, Canters of Excellence, legal, etc. to ensure seamless P&O operations and services. Stakeholders may also include external stakeholders/vendors.

    Close partnership and collaboration with Associate Director, Training DPM US. As member of the Site Leadership team, the incumbent is overall accountable for training for the Site while the Associate Director, Training DPM US is responsible for the training (e.g., workforce planning, capability gaps, and training-related deviations).

    Essential Functions

    • As member of Site Leadership team, act as the trusted strategic P&O Partner and advisor for the Site Head and Site Leadership team. Owner of the P&O agenda at the Site(s) for culture and engagement, organizational development, organizational change management, talent development, strategic workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and local P&O operational excellence
    • Develop and drive P&O strategies and priorities to enable Site business strategies and plans, aligned with business priorities and Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS) /DPM US P&O priorities. Lead discussions about organizational response and development for the business challenges as a part of the Business Review process/meetings
    • As member of the Site Leadership Team, formal owner of training strategy and capability development (i.e., planning and response strategic workforce planning, capability gaps, and training-related DVs) at the Site(s), while DPM US Training organization is responsible for the execution and delivery of the training strategy, priorities and initiatives
    • Assess effectiveness and seek continuous improvement of P&O processes and procedures, including the employee life cycle (attraction, onboarding, development, performance, rewards & exit)
    • Lead the P&O team by delivering clear and concise feedback on performance and behaviors while empowering direct reports to do the same. Role model Enterprise Leadership and proactively execute on strategic priorities by aligning, designing, and ensuring scalable solutions across DPM US sites
    • Lead special projects supporting business strategy (e.g., P&O response to M&A integration activities and/or handover of the greenfield project to operations by owning the organizational integration planning process and the strategic and operational workforce planning for seamless integration and setting high standards for efficiency and optimization)
    • Champion and role model of company values Novo Nordisk way and effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders
    • Role model P&O shop floor presence securing strong understanding and escalation of P&O related issues
    • Perform duties in alignment with global and local policies and processes, including P&O, legal, safety & environmental guidelines and requirements
    • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
    • Other accountabilities, as assigned

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

    Development of People

    Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a relevant field of study from an accredited university required
    • Master's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or relevant field of study from an accredited university preferred
    • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of broad human resources management experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
    • Minimum of five (5) years of direct people management experience required
    • Excellent working knowledge of Human Resource functions and processes required, including driving HR Annual Wheel activities and strategic P&O processes across organization
    • Working knowledge of U.S. employment law at the federal, state & local level, including Affirmative Action requirements is preferred
    • Experience with organizational mergers, acquisitions and integrations is preferred
    • Experience working with senior leadership teams, with strong stakeholder relationships and cross-functional collaboration is required. Experience working at shopfloor preferred
