    Responsibilities

    As the Director of Patient Safety and Infection Prevention, you will provide strategic leadership for programs that reduce preventable harm, strengthen clinical outcomes and advance a culture of safety across Community Regional Medical Center and Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital. You will partner with executive leaders, physicians, nursing, pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality and safety initiatives, oversee patient safety reporting and performance improvement activities and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

     

    In collaboration with the Infection Prevention Medical Director, you will serve as Infection Control Officer, directing infection prevention, surveillance, outbreak response and communicable disease preparedness efforts. You’ll also lead departmental operations, including policy development, budget management, workforce planning and employee development to ensure a high-performing and accountable team.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or another licensed clinical healthcare discipline required.
    • Five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical experience in an acute care healthcare setting required.
    • Five (5) years of leadership experience in patient safety, infection prevention, quality, risk management, or a closely related clinical discipline required.
    • Demonstrated success leading organization-wide quality, patient safety, or infection prevention initiatives required.
    • Experience with regulatory readiness, accreditation surveys, infection surveillance, and continuous performance improvement required.

     

    Licenses and Certifications

    • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required. Candidates with an unrestricted California license in another applicable clinical profession (e.g., Registered Pharmacist or other licensed healthcare professional) may be considered when they possess exceptional qualifications in patient safety, infection prevention, and healthcare quality leadership.
    • Certified in Infection Control (CIC) required within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
