POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Patient Care Services (PCS), Community Hospital will oversee inpatient clinical operations for the Community Hospital assigned to oversee. Department responsibility may change based on strategic needs. The Director PCS is fully engaged in providing uncompromised safety, superior quality, memorable customer experiences, and financial stewardship.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintains an environment conducive to optimum safety for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring compliance with all patient safety goals.
Participates in the administration of Patient Care Services as a full member of the Nurse Executive Team, providing leadership in critical thinking, conflict management and problem-solving.
Participates in the determination of clinical and administrative nursing goals and direction,
and in the strategic and long-range planning of patient care services.
Ensures education of associates and compliance with quality indicators and core measures and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care.
Serves as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, recruit and retain future nursing leaders.
Facilitates communication to meet the ongoing demands of the organization and serves as a change agent, assisting all staff in understanding the importance, necessity, impact, and process of change.
Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients.
Fosters a climate conducive to educational experiences for nursing and other students.
Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores, written compliments from patients/families/visitors, and consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report.
10.Acquires and allocates human, material, and financial resources for specific functions and processes.
11.Ensures compliance with budget expectations and corporate financial goals.
12.Participates in ongoing evaluation and innovation of services
