The Director of Operations Training will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of technical training and continuous improvement practices across CyrusOne data facilities. The role will own the development, implementation, governance, and effectiveness of mandatory technical training requirements for the Facility Operations team, including technician qualification cards, qualified electrical worker training, LOTO, CPR and other technical training, as needed.


The Director of Operations Training will also lead a portfolio of operational excellence and continuous improvement programs across the AMER fleet, including drills on emergency operating procedures, operational site audits and incident lessons learned. This position will lead and develop a team of technical training professionals and establish priorities, standards, and accountability for the function.


Essential Functions


+ Set the technical training strategy and direct the development, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of training programs across Operations

+ Own governance of the technician qualification program, including standards, content, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness

+ Establish LMS governance and ensure the system supports Operations training, qualification, compliance, and reporting requirements

+ Establish performance measures and reporting across USA sites, identify systemic gaps, and drive corrective actions with Operations leadership

+ Lead the fleet-wide emergency preparedness drill program and establish standards for execution, evaluation, and continuous improvement

+ Translate incident findings and lessons learned into fleet-wide training, standards, and operational improvements

+ Own the operational site audit program, establish evaluation standards, identify trends and risks, and drive adoption of best practices across the fleet

+ Establish governance and accountability to ensure Operations training remains compliant with applicable regulatory, legal, and company requirements


Minimum Requirements


+ 8+ years of progressive experience in technical training, critical operations, operational excellence, or related functions, including significant responsibility for developing and leading technical programs

+ 5+ years leading technical teams, including experience developing talent, setting functional priorities, and driving performance

+ 5+ years experience working directly with HVAC and critical electrical systems and the application of BMS / EPMS to these systems

+ Experience with power distribution systems in a data center environment or similar critical systems environment

+ Demonstrated experience leading large-scale continuous improvement and operational excellence programs in industrial, data center, or other critical operations environments

+ Demonstrated ability to influence senior Operations leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across a geographically dispersed organization

+ Proven track record of building high performing teams and establishing scalable programs, standards, and governance

+ Advanced organization / project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives and establish priorities across a geographically dispersed organization

+ Capable of reading and/or generating technical documents, schematics, and drawings


Education


+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant field experience
