A 267-bed community hospital in Fort Walton Beach is seeking an experienced Director of Trauma Program to oversee and lead its Level II Trauma Center. The hospital offers a wide range of advanced services, including an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery, a main emergency department, a pediatric emergency room, and two freestanding emergency departments.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leadership position oversees a team of eight full-time employees and is responsible for the overall direction and success of the trauma program. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality trauma care across the entire patient care continuum while strengthening collaboration with local and regional trauma systems.

Key responsibilities include leading trauma program operations, managing the Trauma Center verification and re-verification process, and developing strategies that enhance patient outcomes and operational performance. The director monitors clinical processes, evaluates quality metrics, conducts audits and case reviews, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. This position also oversees the trauma registry, ensuring accurate data collection to support performance improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and research efforts. Financial oversight, resource utilization, and process optimization are also important aspects of the role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience within the past year, such as Trauma Program Manager or Trauma Coordinator

  • Associate degree required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment
