Position Title: Director, Transportation

Division: Operations Services

Reports To: Executive Director, Transportation

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Schedule: C1 (Doctorate), C1-1 (Specialist), C1-2 (Master''s/Bachelor''s)

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure strong, on-going communications with principals and district leaders. •
  • Assist with the supervision of all facets of transportation services.
  • Ensure the evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation services and assist with the development of a growth and replacement plan for the full fleet.
  • Actively participate in the budget process and monitor spending related to transportation.
  • Keep abreast of federal and state laws and policies related to transportation and establish procedures to ensure required compliance of these laws and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with public school operations preferred.
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative information in a transportation setting to drive decision-making and evaluation.
  • Ability to work well with staff and the public; ability to effectively respond to inquiries or complaints from staff members, agencies, or members of the community.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. Must be able to be present at the physical worksite.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills are essential factors in performing essential tasks
